Terms and cancellation

The terms of an Akassa Collection charter are simple: a 50% deposit holds the date, the balance is due 30 days before departure, and cancellations refund 50% or 25% depending on notice. If a boat cannot sail, we offer a replacement boat. Children aged 0 to 2 travel free.
Deposit, then balance
A deposit of 50% confirms the date. The balance is due 30 days before departure. A booking made inside 30 days is paid in full at once.
Prices include 11% VAT. Park tickets, ranger fees, flights, tips, hotels and insurance are outside the fare. A PayPal payment adds 7.2%, and a card payment link shows its processing fee, if any, on the invoice before you pay.
Passport details for every guest are due a week before sailing, for the manifest and the park ticket.
Invoices come from PT Komodo Explorer Indonesia. The invoice names the boat, the route, the dates and the party. A reply on WhatsApp is a written confirmation of what we said. It is not a booking until the deposit lands.
2027 private rates are quoted in writing on request. The 2026 rate card applies until then, and a fare that changes before your balance is due is told to you first.

Cancellation and refunds
Refunds follow the notice you give before departure. The table shows the tiers.
Cancel 60 days or more before departure and 50% is refunded. Cancel 30 to 59 days before and 25% is refunded. At 29 days or less nothing is refunded. Refunds are paid within 14 days.
A date change is free at 30 days or more before departure. At 14 to 29 days it costs IDR 500,000. At 13 days or less it is treated as a cancellation and the tiers apply. A new date depends on the boat being free.
Tell us in writing. A message in the booking thread counts as notice from the time we receive it.

When the boat on your date is unavailable
Say the boat cannot sail, through a breakdown or a port or park order. We put you on a phinisi of equal or higher standard on the same date at no extra cost. Or you take a full refund within 14 days. You choose which.
That promise covers the boat. It does not cover the weather over the stops. The captain decides the order of stops and the anchorage on the day, and no hour of light is guaranteed.
A replacement boat is offered with the same route and the same dates. We show you the suite types in writing before you accept.
If you do not accept the replacement, the refund follows. We do not ask you to choose on the pier.
Children, weather and force majeure
Children aged 0 to 2 travel free, accompanied by a parent or guardian. From 3 the full fare applies.
Weather, volcanic activity and orders from the harbor authority can close a route. The captain changes the route for safety, moves to a sheltered anchorage and charges nothing extra for it. Where the boat spends the night depends on the weather and the captain's decision that day.
Conduct that endangers the boat, the crew or the national park ends the charter without a refund. The boat is a shared space, and the park is a protected one.
Travel insurance with cover for cancellation, medical evacuation and belongings is strongly recommended, for every guest. It is not in the fare, and no part of our terms replaces it.
Governing details
These terms are governed by the law of Indonesia, and disputes go to the Indonesian courts.
The seller is PT Komodo Explorer Indonesia, a booking partner for the four boats of Akassa Project. The boats' crews run the trip at sea. The operator's details are below.

What if the trip is canceled?

Can I move my date?
Yes, if the boat is free on the new date. A change is free at 30 days or more before departure, and costs IDR 500,000 at 14 to 29 days. At 13 days or less it is treated as a cancellation, and the refund tiers apply.
What is the refund if I cancel 30 days out?
25% of what you paid. The tiers are 50% at 60 days or more, 25% from 30 to 59 days, and nothing at 29 days or less. Refunds are paid within 14 days of the cancellation.
