The Akassa journal publishes light notes and planning pieces for Komodo private boat trips: what a private boat costs per person, how to plan a trip with friends, a creator shot list, the 2026 park rules for photographers and a walk through a small phinisi. Five articles are live.
Topics in the journal
Light notes is the name of the column. Short field notes about light on a spot or a boat, signed by whoever wrote them, next to the longer pieces that help you plan.
Five pieces are live, each dated.
- What a private boat costs per person. The whole-boat fare divided by the party, boat by boat.
- How to plan a private Komodo trip with friends. Head count, dates, the boat, who pays what.
- A creator's shot list. The moments worth planning a trip around, in time order.
- The 2026 park rules for photographers. Permits, tickets and zones, as they stand.
- Inside a small phinisi. A walk through the decks of one boat, photo by photo.
A Light note stays short: one spot, one hour, one boat or one frame, and a flat statement of what the light did. No promises about the next day. Clouds and haze change every plan, and the captain decides the order of stops.
The guides are the reference shelf. The journal is the notebook beside it.
