What a private Komodo boat costs per person

Komodo private boat cost per person is the whole-boat fare divided by your party. Up to 10 guests, Giona is the lowest price, while Derya and Akassa Cruise give more space, and Akassa Cruise with 3 suites is the most private. Park tickets and the guide sit outside the fare.
The fare belongs to the boat
A private charter is priced per boat, not per seat or per cabin. Four guests or ten, the boat sails for one number, and that number depends on three things: the route, the size band of your party and the season card.
The card in force covers January to May and September to December 2026, dated 26 October 2026. June to August sits on a higher card, which we quote in writing. Private rates for 2027 are on request, so any 2027 figure you have seen elsewhere did not come from us.
Take the 3D2N route. Giona asks IDR 45,000,000 (≈ USD 2,761) for up to 5 guests. Derya asks IDR 62,000,000 (≈ USD 3,804) for up to 4, Akassa Cruise asks IDR 70,000,000 (≈ USD 4,294) for up to 4, and Semesta Voyages asks IDR 106,000,000 (≈ USD 6,503) for up to 12.
Divide that number. The rest of this note is simple arithmetic on it, plus the costs that sit outside it.
Dividing the 3D2N fare by the party
Divide the fare by the head count and the price per person drops quickly, until a band edge lifts the fare. Giona is the lowest-fare boat. Ten guests on Giona pay IDR 5,200,000 (≈ USD 319) each. Eight pay IDR 6,500,000 (≈ USD 399). Six pay IDR 8,670,000 (≈ USD 532).
Five guests pay IDR 9,000,000 (≈ USD 552). Giona moves from IDR 45,000,000 (≈ USD 2,761) to IDR 52,000,000 (≈ USD 3,190) at the sixth guest, and the figure per head still falls.
Derya reads the same way. Eight guests pay IDR 8,120,000 (≈ USD 498) each and ten pay IDR 6,900,000 (≈ USD 423). Akassa Cruise asks IDR 9,750,000 (≈ USD 598) each at 8 and IDR 7,800,000 (≈ USD 479) at 10. Semesta Voyages asks IDR 8,830,000 (≈ USD 542) each at 12 guests and IDR 7,560,000 (≈ USD 464) at 18. From the 13th guest it adds IDR 5,000,000 (≈ USD 307) per guest on top of the base fare.
Two readings follow. Up to 10 guests, Giona is the lowest price per head, while Derya and Akassa Cruise give more space and Akassa Cruise, with 3 suites, is the most private. And Semesta Voyages at ten guests costs IDR 10,600,000 (≈ USD 650) each, so nobody should book it at ten to save money. It is the boat for 11 to 18.
Know your band edges before you fix the list. Giona changes band after 5 guests. Derya changes after 4 and again after 8. Akassa Cruise changes after 4. Semesta Voyages holds one fare up to 12 guests and adds a per-guest fee above that. A party one guest over an edge pays a different fare, so a friend who is not sure is worth settling early.

Small parties, and the Friday seat as a yardstick
Two guests on Giona pay IDR 22,500,000 (≈ USD 1,380) each for the whole boat. That is what private space costs, and it is the wrong sum if price is the only goal. Photographers and pairs buy the boat for the deck, the timing and the empty anchorage. They are not buying cheap seats.
The cheap seats exist, and they make an honest yardstick. A Friday departure sells cabins. The lowest Giona seat, Thetis, is IDR 4,600,000 (≈ USD 282) per person for 3D2N, with a minimum of 2 guests in the cabin. A pair pays 9.2 million rupiah for it. The same two guests pay IDR 45,000,000 (≈ USD 2,761) for the whole boat.
Compare what each one includes before you compare the totals. On the Friday departure the local guide and the photo and video documentation are included. On a private charter they are not, and we quote them separately on request. Both prices are fair. They just answer different questions.
Friday dates are secondary on this site. If your party is two and your diary allows a Friday, ask us, and the departures page lists every date.
Costs that the quote does not carry
Add these lines before you divide.
- Park tickets. Under PP 36/2024 the entry ticket is IDR 250,000 per foreign guest and IDR 50,000 per Indonesian guest on a weekday, rising to IDR 75,000 on the higher tariff. One ticket per person, and the fare never carries it.
- Ranger and pier levies. Paid separately. They can change.
- Guide and documentation. Not in a private charter. On request, quoted separately.
- Drone permit. Flying a drone needs a SIMAKSI permit and a daily park ticket. We promise no drone footage.
- Your own costs. Flights, Labuan Bajo hotel nights, tips and travel insurance.
Inside the fare you get pick-up and drop-off at Labuan Bajo harbor. Breakfast, lunch and dinner come from the boat kitchen, with water, coffee, tea and an afternoon snack. The tender, canoes, floaties, snorkeling gear, life jackets and the karaoke set are on board.
Ten foreign guests add IDR 250,000 each for the park alone. Put that in the sum first, and the per-person figure you give your friends will still hold on the day.
A worked example. Eight foreign guests on Derya share the boat at IDR 8,120,000 (≈ USD 498) each. Add the park ticket at IDR 250,000 and the guide if you want one. That total, not the first number, is what each person pays.
Reading two quotes side by side
Quotes from different sources rarely share a base. Line them up on six points before you compare the bottom line.
- Route. 2D1N, 3D2N or 4D3N. A 4D3N fare on one page and a 3D2N fare on another is not a comparison.
- Season card. January to May and September to December, or June to August.
- Size band. The band your head count falls into, not the boat's maximum.
- Inclusions. Park tickets, ranger fees, fuel, guide, documentation: in, out or extra.
- Currency and date. Rupiah or dollars, and the day the rate was set. Ours carries the card date, 26 October 2026.
- Payment terms. Ours: a 50% deposit confirms the date, and the balance is due 30 days before departure.
Picking the boat takes one line. Up to 10 guests: Akassa Cruise, Derya or Giona, chosen by space and budget. 11 to 18 guests: Semesta Voyages, the only boat above 10.
The captain decides the order of stops and the anchorage on the day, and no hour of light is guaranteed. The charter page holds the full cards, and the compare page sets the four boats side by side.

Is a private boat cheaper per person than a Friday seat?
Not at small party sizes. Ten guests on Giona pay IDR 5,200,000 (≈ USD 319) each for the whole boat on 3D2N, which lands between the Triton seat at IDR 5,000,000 (≈ USD 307) and the Poseidon seat at IDR 6,200,000 (≈ USD 380). The seat includes the local guide and documentation. The private fare does not, so compare like with like.
What happens to the price per person if one friend drops out?
It rises, even when the boat fare falls. Giona at 6 guests costs IDR 52,000,000 (≈ USD 3,190) in total, IDR 8,670,000 (≈ USD 532) each. At 5 guests the boat fare is IDR 45,000,000 (≈ USD 2,761), and each guest pays IDR 9,000,000 (≈ USD 552). Confirm the head count before the balance falls due, 30 days before departure.
Are park tickets in the quote?
No. Park tickets and ranger fees are never in the fare. The entry ticket under PP 36/2024 is IDR 250,000 for a foreign guest and IDR 50,000 for an Indonesian guest on a weekday. We keep it as its own line so you can add it to the per-person sum.
